This barn conversion in Pott Shrigley at the edge of the Peak District has breathtaking views west across Cheshire.
The clients are keen bird watchers. The existing farm pond was enlarged, relined and planted with native species. Grasses and wildflowers edge the water. Oaks, hazel, hawthorn and wild cherry provide shelter and support for wildlife. An orchard planted and the kitchen garden enclosed with a picket fence to keep out rabbits. The site is very exposed and an enclosed cottage garden screened with oak fencing was created next to the house.
